​ Irina Prieto Botella  

My educational background includes an extensive formal training as a musicologist and as a pianist. Inspired by my father, a passionate and prolific amateur director, I got involved in music film composition. I started out working on his films and documentaries, and soon after I decided to further my education in orchestration and classical writing (Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya - ESMUC, Conservatoire de Levallois), as well as in electroacoustic composition, jazz arrangements and recording and sound mixing (Master in Creation Musical and Sound, Université Vincennes-Saint Denis, Paris 8).

I have a solid professional experience in the historical documentary genre (with films broadcast on Arte, France 2, France 5, History, Tve1 ..., among others). I have also worked on several experimental documentaries as well as short and medium-length fiction films. 

I have also worked on electroacoustic projects and sound installations, on dance and theatre show music and I have recently signed my first commission for a stage project (Terre des Hommes) which was created as part of the festival of young composers "Off Liceu - Diàlegs Musicals" at the Barcelona Opera.
